What the 2008 Election Holds

The 2008 Presidential election certainly does not hold much for people such as myself. I think conservative, I vote conservative. Now what do I do? No candidate has my values...shall I throw my vote away on someone who cannot possibly win? Or should I just compromise my principles and vote for someone who agrees with me on only one or two major issues?

Either way, I am in a moral dilemma which I will never be able to scrub myself clean of. In the end who cares, other than my close relations, if I put my foot down and just don't vote? I firmly believe that voting is a serious responsibility that every true citizen should take part in. It would take a tremendous amount of abstaining voters for our frustration to be heard. Once again, we want someone who best promotes our values...where is this person?

It's a dilema. Hillary or Barrack Hussein will screw the country up so bad in four years it may gaurantee the rise of a new Reagan like conservative of which there is apparently a very short supply. McCain on the other hand is the modern day Republican. By his own admission in a gaff made recently he his a conservative liberal republican. That describes him perfectly. On fiscal issues he could be generally called a conservative. On moral issues he's been pro-life. On National Security he wants to fight terrorists but won't use water boarding to get information. For other exambles of liberalism look at McCain-Fiengold, McCain-Leberman, McCain-Kennedy. What this election will come down to is voting for a completely deranged liberal or a semi-deranged Republican. We have lots of time to ponder that. If we want to make real change we have to start getting involved in local, state and federal congressional races to insure that we have truly conservative choices. I mean people that want to defeat Liberalism not get along with it.
